I bought this as a throwaway case for my ipad2. Something I could use around the office every day, let it get tossed around and grabbed with greasy fingers and all. I was completely surprised by the quality of this case, and now use it almost exclusively.
The coverage "issue" that has been talked about by some users is really (really) nit- picky, and refers to an area of the iPad that never comes into contact with anything. For everyday use in a regular office environment, this case is perfect. I think that if you wanted a hermetically sealed enclosure for your iPad you probably should be looking for someone like OtterBox Defender Series Hybrid Case for iPad 2 2nd Generation - Black (NEWEST MODEL) or maybe just don't be so 'scared of using your iPad...
The case fits perfectly, grabbing the front lip of the iPad *just* enough to be firm, but not covering the front glass at all. The case stays on even when shaking the pad during gameplay, yet comes off easily with just a thumb and forefinger. Nice. The surface of the cover is that soft rubbery material that you've seen on some phone cases. It's sturdy, somewhat solvent proof (I've spilled isopropyl alcohol on it) and it wipes clean easily with a damp cloth. It's also snug so dust doesn't get between the case and the iPad and scratch it.
I've tried about six different cases before this. Most are either really flimsy and fall off, are made from materials that get scratched easily and look ugly, or are so bulky they feel like I'm carrying a brick.
This case has exceeded my expectations in every way. My only wish is that they made it in some other colors, but honestly that's just being nit-picky. :)

There were two negative reviews, one in which the guy said it did not cover all the iPad but other reviews claimed that it did. So I went ahead and got it. Well it just came in and I am sorry to say that it does not cover all the iPad. There is a small gap between where the hinge is and the case. It will not get scratched or anything being on a table but it has the potential to if it is in a bag. It does look like a great case and I still may keep it since it is 20$ cheaper than the Belkin which is supposed to cover it all.

Nice back cover!May 24, 2011
By MJD Bought this on a lark through a Deal-Mac offer that made the price $11.99 with USPS shipping. Figured nothing to be lost for $12!
Turns out to be just as advertised; fits my iPad 2 perfectly and securely and allows full normal function of the Apple cover.
Just got back from a 4 day trip where I took it in and out of my Marware laptop case with no hint of peeling or delaminating.
There may be better ones, but for the price, perfect!

By Mike T. Charboneau I am happy with my purchase it fits perfect and protects the back when I lay it down on any surface and compatible with the apple iPad 2 case with magnets. It is also very thin and feels like velvety polycarbonate plastic. Does the job for less cost!

By William Marks I just got this case in about two weeks ago. I was going back and forth between similar products all with great and terrible reviews. Finally I decided to bet $8 that this wasn't as bad as all the negative reviews were saying. My bet paid off:
1) The "fingerprint problem" picture hasn't been a huge issue for me... It may change as this ages, but so far so good.
2) I'm satisfied with the coverage on the back. It would have been a nuisance if it had been a too tight fit for the smartcover.
3) It went on super easy, and fits great.
4) It is a nice, soft grippy texture that's very pleasing to hold.
It may not last forever, but for eight dollars, it's there to get beat up instead of my ipad. I'm for it.
