Before deciding on this case, I looked at various hard cases that snaps onto the Air itself, they all cost up towards the $50 mark, which really turned me away from them. In the end I was picking between the CaseCrown leather case and this one. I ultimately decided on this one because I thought the tab that closes the CaseCrown case might become kind of a nuisance.
For less than $20, I'm really glad I bought this over the other cases. While the snap-on probably keep the Macbook Air to its original dimensions the best, the padded leather feel and look is awesome-better than it looks in the pictures. The cover over the palm rest adds a bit of luxurious feel. I just got this a few days ago so I can't speak about the durability of the product, but it's awesome as of right now.
The only negative is the fact that the weight of the part covering the screen kind of weighs the screen down when you open it past vertical. However, I've also found that, popping the stand on the bottom out alleviates this problem and it also improves the typing angle of the keyboard.
Honestly, even if this case only lasts only a few months, I'll probably buy it again. Especially since it's so much cheaper than the other cases. In fact...I'm kind of thinking about buying another right now.

Excellent case for the priceDec 20, 2011
By Mahesh Neelakanta Bought this case/cover for my wife's macbook air. The build quality is amazing and it really protects the laptop from dings and scratches. The case has a solid feel to it and a good grip so that we can carry the laptop in it and feel confident when holding it. I wish they had a 13.3" version of this too..

Will scratch your screen!Mar 04, 2012
By N. Trotter Initially I loved this book cover style case, which I bought for my MBA 11". After about a week of use, I noticed that the thin strip of faux leather above the trackpad rubbed and scratched the display. Touching it, I discovered it had a sharp edge. Perhaps my cover was defective, but I'd stay away from it just to be on the safe side.
