It's good enough for me--Average Joe.Sep 02, 2007
By Bryan Lewis I'd like to start off by saying that I'm no audiophile. My generation has been raised to put up with bad audio. I acknowledge that I couldn't tell you one lick of difference between the great and the ugly--hell, I've been using the standard iPod earbuds for the past couple of years!
With all that said, though, I do love these headphones. They look and sound exactly like they should. The noise-proofing is just enough for me: there's a definite level where you can tell the ambient sounds just melt away. They feel kind of light at times, and any knock against the side will be transmitted through. But I like all that just fine.
The only major road-bump isn't really the fault of the headphones, but moreso of the retro style: the tightening mechanism isn't used anymore for a reason. I'm a little bit obsessive about things like this, so if you aren't then take what I say with a grain of salt. Every ten or twenty minutes I have to readjust them to make sure everything is centered and aligned and such--not to mention when I first put them on or when they're on my neck. But it's really a specific, detail-oriented gripe that some people may never even notice.
All in all, these things are great. If you're wanting some awesome retro headphones that nail the look, these babies are perfect for the price.

great sound for the priceSep 28, 2007
By rocket revenger i was a little worried i might not like these since i ordered them online, but they have awesome sound for the price range. sound as good as many that cost twice as much, and real comfy too. the only thing i've noticed is a tendency to a little crispy distortion in the hi mid - hi area, but it's not often and it sounds kinda like listening to vinyl

cool headphonesMay 13, 2007
By F. John These headphones are pretty comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, good quality supra aural headphones. You get lots of stares (good ones) wearing these, bobbing along to good tunes all the while.

Ahhhh-someSep 06, 2007
By R. Tryon These things kick a$$! They look awesome, sound awesome, and they are awesome. The bass is schweeeet, they block out your roommate when hes speaking vietnamese at 2 AM and they generally just make your music better. A+++ awesome Panasonic. Also, amazon is cool too, just because they sell these, and they ship really fast.

By mcyrus Now, these aren't going to give you an audiophile-level experience - they lose some sounds around the edges, and if you're listening to a really great source, it'll show. But for the kids nowadays, with their mp3s? Perfect. In fact, these actually do something that's more retro than the stylings. If you listen to something really complicated or even just loud, the speakers can't handle it - which sounds EXACTLY like when you listened to your records using the crappy headphones that your mom got in the divorce, because dad took the expensive ones. Everything gets all scwooged together, and makes any recording sound like Phil Spector's wall of sound! I'm serious, this isn't sarcasm. A lot of music before the nineties really benefitted from being played TOO LOUD through insufficient headphones. Put on some Bowie or Judas Priest or Neil Young on these - you'll thank me. The inadequate response along with the beautiful piano finish will make you feel AWESOME. I'm thinking they would be perfect for that guitar hero video game.
The cord quality is kinda shabby. Thay have this great vinyl fabric heatshrink arount the elements, but the cord itself is cheap and brittle, so be careful. And watch out where the metal hits the cups - it builds up dirt which can ruin your retro classy cred if you don't keep them clean. So many headphones have that crappy plastic powdered spray on the band - real leather is nice, it never flakes off. Also, one last thing, if you have medium-to-large ears, the phones themselves are a little cramped, it always makes my lobes sore after 1/2-hour. They're only about 2&1/2 inches high, and pretty narrow. Other than that, perfectly comfortable, but it would be a deal-breaker for me if they didn't look so damn good.
As for color: the green is REALLY bright. The blue and cream are still very eye-catching in real life, but if I were to get another, I'd choose one with the light leather headband, it's a nice finish.
