Great for GamingMay 18, 2008
By Lloyd W. Mcfarlin I had been doing my research on a new pair of headphones since accidentally tripping over (and breaking) my old Sennheiser 202's. I consider myself to equally be an audiophile (albeit, on a budget) and a gamer. Based on the reviews of the regular (non-"Professional Series") model of these headphones, I decided to give these a shot.
Gaming is great and it really does sound like 5.1 surround. The immersion is fantastic and really does change the gaming experience greatly. The quality of the build is very good and they are very comfortable on my head. The headphones do completely enclose my ears. The inline volume control is handy if you're not plugging the headphones into a speaker's headphone jack and are already using the speaker's volume control. It also has a switch to toggle the mic on/off on the same inline control.
As for music, I don't feel that my needs here are met. For the occasional listener (or one without high expectations), these should fit the bill just fine. Personally, I think my previous Sennheiser headphones offered vastly superior sound in this area and now I'm considering another Sennheiser pair or Audio Technica's for music. I won't deduct a star for this since these were never advertised for anything other than gaming. It should be noted though for anyone who also wants good music reproduction.

Don't buy - the Razer HP-1's offer 5.1 surround & sound MUCH better for same price range ...Feb 14, 2009
By J. C. Perry I've been using these Creative Fatil1ty Pro series headphones for a few weeks. I eventually bought a set of Razer HP-1 Barracuda 8-Channel Gaming Headphones, and just compared them ... The Razer headphones sound much clearer for both music and games! The creative headphones sound dull and muddy compared to the Razer set. Before hearing the Razer set, I thought the Creative set sounded OK ... now, I really regret spending the ~$80 on them! For around the same price, I could have bought the Razer set to begin with, and they sound much much clearer, and offer 5.1 surround sound which the Creative set doesn't have.

Cheap partsDec 23, 2008
By M. Cheng This headset broke after using it for roughly 2 months. The plastic pieces (that has the signatures on them) connecting the top portion of the headset and the speakers are the problem with this item. They will snap and break eventually.
The headset is quite large and will become uncomfortable after hours of wear. Other than those complaints, however, the headset overall is a good product. The mic is very clear (from what others tell me) and the sound quality is decent. The cord is extremely lengthy and has a clip to clip onto shirts/clothing, so that's another plus.
good quality, comfortableNov 23, 2008
By Andrew Ahern this headset is real nice, the sound quality is good. haven't used the mic much but it seems to have good quality. real comfortable on the head, not pinching or any hot spots on the ear, although personally I might prefer to have it having a little bit more clamping force on my head, seems too loose. Also the cord is massive, like 9 feet, so you won't have any problems with lan parties like I did where I had to switch from dedicated to onboard sound for the extra 6 inches of cord.
