Large storage in a small packageJun 26, 2008
By K. Wolfe I have owned many flash drives in the past but have always preferred the SanDisk Cruzer® Micro Skin USB Flash Drives. They are small and seem to be sturdier than the other models with the retractable USB port. I was very happy to see that SanDisk didn't retire this model and finally released it in 8GB. They are still a bit pricey, at the time of this review, but I imagine the price will come down like all flash drives do as the capacities become larger. Amazon not only carried them but had the cheapest prices. If you are looking for a small, sturdy flash drive with good capacity this is it.

I've used this flash drive at home and work on a number of different operating systems. Mac OS X at home, Windows XP and Red Hat Linux at work and it has worked flawlessly for me.

Great flash driveDec 24, 2008
By rmfjr1 I own three of these drives and have never had a problem. Soft case is comfortable, easy to grasp, and prevents scratching other equipment. Quick read/writes. One drawback is that the drive does not include a lanyard. For portable storage, SanDisk has never let me down (compact flash, SD, and HCSD).

Very compactJun 06, 2011

These cruzer-micro's are smaller than the "plastic" micros with the retractable connector. They are actually limited buy the size of the actual usb port. They couldn't possible make them thinner. They are made of metal so they are very durable. I've had a half-dozen of these in daily use for almost 6 yrs. AWESOME DEVICES. They are so thin you can plug them into adjacent usb ports without blocking the one next to it.

Just what the doctor orderedNov 30, 2009
By Ronald J. Bryant This little flash drive works with Windows 98 SE and Vista -- just what I needed to transfer files from an old computer to a new computer without setting up a network connection. I also have tried a Toshiba 8 GB flash drive which is absolutely incompatible with Windows 98 SE.
