Beware - you get what you pay for...Jun 18, 2011
By Jeff I thought I was getting one heck of a good deal with these. Even after reading some of the negative reviews, I thought that I would take a chance. How can you beat the price?!? Well, as so many times before, I was reminded that you do, indeed, get what you pay for. I ordered 4 of these and 3 of them would not register in any computer or OS in my house (Windows XP, 7, OSX, Ubuntu 10.04 Linux). The fourth one worked well, but a 75% DOA rate is a little more than I can stomach. I have requested a full refund for all four items and will gladly ship them back to the vendor.
Beware - you get what you pay for!

By Smilin Sam This item, for $2, INCLUDING shipping, is an unbelievable deal. The item itself, however, leaves a bit to be desired. It works, I'll say that much. But the back cap is so loose it's only a matter of time before it falls off and gets lost. And the device does not go smoothly into the USB port. But hey...it works; it's recognized by the system. So...for $2...how can you go wrong?

By Travis I got this for free in a bundling offer, so at first I was skeptical at the quality of the product, but I needed something to read my miniSD cards with, and the other bundle offers didn't look too tempting. When I got this, I really didn't expect much, it just looks cheap. Well, that was a year ago, and I constantly use this thing and it has never let me down. I have it coupled with a miniSD to SD adapter to store videos and school work on. Usually nothing I buy that is transparent enough to see the circuit board lasts very long, but I got this for FREE and it has served me well. I guess it just goes to show that some of the best things in life are free.

Reads SDHC fineAug 26, 2011
By ilostthegame This reader works with Transcend 16GB SDHC (Class 10), which was what I was looking for.
The reader has two detachable caps, one for the USB port and one for the card slot. The latter is large enough to house the SD card if you would like to close the cap with the card still in the reader, which is a nice feature. I am, however, afraid that these two caps could be lost easily.
The overall assembly is slightly bigger than I had imagined. It measures close to 3" in length, 1.2" in width.
I have read several reviews mentioning short lifespan of the device. Will update review if the device does die prematurely.
