Sandisk Ultra Backup 32 GBAug 20, 2010 Backups are a breeze, easy to use, easy to restore files when needed. Have not used it to backup a program so cannot comment on that issue.

Caveat EmptorJan 15, 2010 The U3 application for this drive does not work with Windows 7. To update the U3 application you need to update the drive using Windows XP per SanDisk. Once you update the U3 application, the Backup utility does not work with Windows 7. If you use Windows XP or Vista, this may provide a viable backup solution. On Windows 7 it does not. Returned to point of purchase for a refund. SanDisk crossed off reliable hardware vendor list.

Life and Data SaverNov 27, 2009 I use nothing but SanDisk backup keys for data backup. I've tried using external harddrives and found they didn't always work so easily. I'm spoiled by these keys. This 32GB backed up all the data on my computer. I also have 3 SanDisk Titanium keys in 4GB and 8GB sizes. They rock completely! These things are so easy to use you literally do nothing but plug them into your USB port and let them boot. Then just backup whatever you want. You can drag and drop files on the key's drive, or you can engage the backup feature on software. For instance, I hit "backup" on my Quicken and select the drive for my SanDisk key and it backs up my checkbook right onto the key - and in less than 10 seconds! These things are rocket fast! My computer recently crashed and I wasn't worried because I had everything - EVERYTHING - backed up on SanDisk. I reloaded the OS, and my software and just moved my saved data off the key and right back onto my computer. "Flash drive" is right - these things will restore your online life in a flash!

Lot of memory for a flash driveSep 12, 2009 Wasn't so long ago that laptops had 30 Gb hard drives. Now there's a 32 Gb flash drive. You can back up A LOT OF STUFF on this little guy.
Only problem is next year the 64 Gb flash drives will be reasonable and this one will be $30 cheaper, but that process is never-ending.

Works well, nice way to backup all your pics and musicAug 26, 2009 Some of the reviewers here don't understand how to use this flash drive. The software automatically launches when you plug it in thus there is no need for instructions...it's totally self-explanatory. I bought this to make a 2nd backup of my pictures and music that I could store offsite, leaving my external HD backup as my main on-site backup device. It's large enough to hold the last 10 years of pictures and music I've collected. The software is clear and functional, it's not a fast flash drive but for the size it is fine. There are no fast flash drives in this size at the moment compared to drives much smaller. It took about 2 hours to backup about 5000 hi-res photos and 3000 songs. It then went to my office away from my home where it will sit as a $90 insurance policy against my primary backup system failing. I plan on updating it every quarter or so with the understanding that this is a backup of a backup. It's worth it, more convenient and safer than the online backup companies out there that cost this much or more for a single year. It won't be long before backup external hard drives are a thing of the past and everyone is using large flash memory to make a more permanent and stable backup of their computers and files.
